Lush with plant life, the hillside shone in the early morning light. The tall grasses waved slowly in the wind, and weed and flower alike bloomed at the sight of the sun, dew sparkling on their leaves. All was still and at pe-- "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
Tala charged over the crest, abruptly tucking her wings and throwing her shoulder forward, kicking off (quite intentionally) an ears-over-tail roll. She careened down the hillside, breaking stems left and right and scattering any chance of a quiet morning. As she hit the bottom, she attempted to stand, staggering drunkenly around before falling spread-winged onto her back, laughing up a storm. "Ah, nothing like tumbling to start off your morning! Sorry, there, Kai, should've given you warning. But still, this hill, its side so pristine… see, I had to go do it – it was simply too clean!" Tala shook herself as she stood. (Unbeknownst to her, an aster remained stuck in her mane at a jaunty angle, making it look nearly like the flower was growing out of her neck.) "If I had to be honest, I can't say I recall – what was it we spoke of before my great fall? Well do I know that we came for a reason, but my mind's now just set on enjoying the season." She began trotting back to her friend, hoping for an answer. Maybe we came for food…? Was I supposed to be hunting something?

Indeed the first parts of the morning were nearly always beautiful. Though some could relax and appreciate it more than others. Atop the hill that the first disturbance had tumbled down stood another in stark contrast, with fur as dark as night with pale blue tips as if her very coat were frosted. Her eyes a deep green that perhaps could've almost been a blue-green were alight as they watched her friend and a light laugh escaped Kairaesa's lips, something far more frequent now than even in a few years past. "Tala you're always so impulsive. I'm neither surprised nor concerned. We both know your carefree nature is what set me free." She paused, floating down the hillside after her friend and stopping beside her at the bottom. The lush grass swayed about her paws and she couldn't help taking in its scent. At least she appreciated her surroundings now.
"We came to reflect... I think. Or perhaps merely came here by circumstance. We've been nearly everywhere, haven't we?" It had been a little over five years now since she had first met her dear friend and companion. And Kairaesa couldn't imagine life without Tala now. "Do you want to hunt, Tala?" she asked, gazing into the distance. "I'm sure your tumble would've woken up any yet sleeping prey. Most definitely the birds." Kai glanced once more to her friend, her head tilting slightly to the side.
