As soon as Xavelthius was airborne, Jolene rose. She didn't need to be told twice as she easily darted into the woods once more and returned in her normal clothing. If nothing else, it made her feel slightly more comfortable... or perhaps it was because they were no longer bowing and being stared down by some ancient behemoth of a beast. Either way, she readily mounted Zenithe in dragon form, listening as he spoke into her mind. She had no idea where to even start on ideas, so she simply let herself find comfort in the physical touch of her mate, lover... guardian. She breathed in his scent, and focused on that. Perhaps in the time it took to fly... they would think of something. Though she knew that dragons flew very quickly indeed.
Xavelthius flew at an incredible speed, though seemed to be conscious of Zenithe behind him. If he thought anything of Jolene riding on him, he said nothing. For the time being. As Zenithe had said, Xavelthius was a very proud and stingy sort. In his view, only one who had mastered a dragon form was worthy of the family line. But it seemed his focus on finding the remaining member of the Kodalis family was enough for him to overlook his prejudices.

Zenithe struggled to keep his mind clear. So many thoughts raced through it with the appearance of Xavelthius. How would he protect Jolene against him? How could he possibly stop him? Where was his grandfather in the first place? His clouded mind caused him to fly a little slower than usual but still he managed to keep up fairly well with Xavelthius. "Jolene...." he spoke in his mind softly to her. "I have to be honest with you... if he comes after you for any reason.... I don't know if I can stop him. You know I will do everything I possibly can but please... keep alert and on guard around him at all times. Be ready to move in an instant..." Those words he muttered to her ever so quietly were all he could muster the concentration for form. Too many things could go wrong this day and events yet to unfold could very well hold certain doom. But he tried his best to keep a sharp eye on Xavelthius as much as he could. He could tell that somehow.... Xavelthius knew where he was going. And he was headed straight for Salathen.
