(design by Kikuyoshi) When he vanished, she smirked to herself. She rose, shaking out her fur. "Actually... not a fool at all, Vyrn. Though I see you've got a temper." She turned, the mirror about her neck glinting in the moonlight. She didn't need to see where his physical form was to discern. His soul was something she could sense, even if she were blind. However, she didn't use her abilities to do so... to find his soul. Instead, she merely leaped down from where she had perched herself. She waited. Would he reappear? Or would he push her more?

Practically smoldering with anger, Vyrn turned loose his Howling Dark power, and a sound that would best be described as a growling, shuddering roar thundered off the crumbling walls and buildings. A chorus of eerie, yelping cries began calling out as if in response, and... something vaguely canine could be seen in the surrounding ruins. Several somethings, although what was not exactly clear, as only glimpses of them were visible. They appeared to have Edreiah completely surrounded.
Vyrn faded into view directly in front of her, black mist rolling off his body, and spoke four words.
"Consider this a warning."
Then he vanished completely, Shadow Stepping away to a different part of the Ruins. The apparitions vanished as well, dissolving into clouds of dark vapor that scattered in the wind.
In the following silence, a female voice sounded from a second-story window. "I'm impressed. Not many people can piss off Herr Ny'Caltas and get away with it."

(design by Kikuyoshi) Edreiah's pale ears slanted back at the sound of the eerie yelping cries. A small smirk formed on her lips. As Vyrn faded into view, she stared into his eyes. But he didn't even give her a chance to respond. She was tempted... so tempted to attempt to grasp his soul right then. What Vyrn didn't know was that his previous movements had sealed Edreiah's interest in him. He was her new mission, as she saw it.
But before she could venture off to pursue her interest, a female voice reached her ears.
She looked up, pale eyes easily finding the figure. One perhaps even more intriguing than the wolf who had just left. Edreiah snorted. "Who? Me?" She paused. Perhaps Vyrn had sensed any further actin at that moment would be a risk. Who knew what had just happened. Or what his instincts had told him. Either way, she chose not to say her thoughts. Instead, she stepped forward. "And who might you be?" she asked. Part of her wanted to pursue Vyrn and find him...

The creature raised its (or rather, her, as the voice had been decidedly female) head from where it had been resting on the crumbling windowsill, looking a bit surprised. She had thought that her coloration, a mottled gray-brown with a lighter gray underbelly, would keep her hidden from view, but it seemed not to be the case with this pale she-wolf. Certainly it wasn't mystical senses that had given her away; her immunity to magic rendered her undetectable by such methods. "You've got some good eyes there, sister," She called out to Edreiah. "I doubt even that mürrisch shadow-mage could have picked me out at this range." Getting to her feet, she strolled out the window, her six legs carrying her thirty-foot frame down the side of the dilapidated building as easily as if she were walking through a grassy meadow. She kept the myriad of barbed quills on her back and sides folded flat under her fur as she approached Edreiah, but with the other female's sharp eyes she just might notice their subtle movements under the mutant's pelt. "Edreiah, right? She asked, her tone holding none of the hostility that Vyrn's had. "I'm called Akralara. And I do apologize about Herr Ny'Caltas; Dame Jakkun has managed to tame him a bit, but he can still be quite stachelig at times."

OoC: Bahahaha XD I love Akralara. Every time I read about her I'm like *chill* e.e only cause she'd be so intimidating in real life! Also my bad e.e; I didn't realize she was so enshrouded in shadow and that far away. Woops DX Although Edreiah does have good eyesight... meh... x.x; iC: (design by Kikuyoshi) Edreiah seemed to dismiss the wolfess' first comment, watching as she approached and her form became more visible. She was an impressive creature indeed. In all her life and travels, she had never seen such a creature as this... though she had certainly seen many that were of varying sizes and shapes. This one certainly drew her curiosity... perhaps even more than Vyrn. Though she had a suspect that she shouldn't mess with this one's soul. Not that she even tried at this point. ((Omg I bet that would be interesting... Edreiah trying to grasp Akralara's soul and being like...wtf... why isn't it working DX lol))
The pale wolfess merely nodded, remaining seated as Akralara approached. "Are you and he well acquainted?" Edreiah asked, quirking a slight brow. "You seem quite different than he," she added. Though perhaps that was of little consequence.

Akralara couldn't help but give a faint grin of amusement at Edreiah's dialect. "Na ja, aren't you anständig, talking like a Dame? Yes, I am different. There is not, and never has been, anything like me. As for Herr Ny'Caltas, well..." She shrugged, her quills rustling softly. "I don't know much about him, really. We aren't all that close." She glanced curiously at Edreiah's mirror. "So what does that do, anyway? Is it a protection charm or something?"

(design by Kikuyoshi) Edreiah smiled at the other. "Well you certainly are one of a kind." At Akralara's statement that she didn't really know Vyrn all that well, the pale wolfess couldn't help quirking a slight brow. "Really?" she mused softly. For one who didn't know much about him, Edreiah found it interesting the way she had started the conversation. Was she some sort of stalkerish observer? Not that she could say anything, of course. Before Edreiah could comment on such, Akralara was already changing the conversation.
At the question of her mirror, she couldn't help a light laugh. It seemed everyone she met tonight inquired about it... wanting to know her secrets. Edreiah shook her head. "Let's just say it is the equivalent of an amulet for those who carry one. It is closely tied and one might say essential to my magic." She paused, debating whether or not she should tell Edreiah more. Part of her ability to actually use her magic... at least for those who did not specifically come to her willingly, was in her victim being entirely unknowing of what was to come.
Edreiah found herself looking over Akralara. It seemed for the moment, she would say no more. Vyrn had very much drawn her attention... and even if this wolfess didn't know much of him, she could not, as of yet, determine whether this... whatever she was... could be trusted not to spoil her fun.

Akralara met Edreiah's gaze without blinking for a few moments, before looking away with a faint grin. "You're interested in him, aren't you? Es tut mir leid, schwester, but he's spoken for, and I think Dame Jakkun wouldn't take too kindly to someone trying to steal her consort." She stretched, her quills bristling for a moment before she shook herself, resettling them under her fur. "Anyway, I wouldn't bother going after him. He's probably on the far side of the region or something.

(design by Kikuyoshi) Edreiah quirked a brow, then resumed her placid expression. "Perhaps... but my interest in him is not of that nature. I in no way desire to interrupt whatever affairs he has." She said no more, though found his teleportation abilities all the more interesting. "Well no matter," Edreiah murmured, certain she would cross paths with Vyrn again at some point. She could be a patient creature. "What about yourself?" she asked, "Do you call these ruins your home?"

Akralara couldn't help but raise an eyebrow when Edreiah denied having any romantic interest in Vyrn. She decided not to press the matter, though, and merely shrugged when the winged female promptly changed the subject by asking if she lived here as well. "Only as much as I do the rest of these lands, although the past few moons I've been denning in the moors to the east. Other than that..." She yawned, briefly displaying curved, shark-like teeth. "For the most part I go where I want. The only thing I really have to worry about is catching prey and staying in good health. What of yourself? Am I correct in assuming you don't den here, either?"

(design by Kikuyoshi) Mmm. A wanderer. Like herself, perhaps, Edreiah thought. She found Akralara fascinating in her own right. A wry smile came to her pale lips as the other returned her question. "You are correct," she answered. "I go where I please... particularly where I might find personas of interest. I've got somewhat of a knack for it, you might say." She paused, glancing skyward. Akralara had mentioned catching prey. She couldn't help thinking how she had been rather unfortunate as of late in that aspect. Though not in reference to food. Once more, she turned her gaze to Akralara. She still couldn't read into her, and it was somewhat bewildering... and frustrating. Was this odd one's soul worth her consideration, she wondered? "Have you eaten recently?" she asked. Perhaps a hunt was just what she needed right now.

Akralara tipped her head to one side, looking Edreiah over a bit more closely. There was that interest again, only directed at her now, along with the faintest trace of... frustration? What in the name of die Dame von Gewässern was the white female frustrated about? Now the great mutant's own curiosity was sparked, although she decided to hold off on any questions, at least for the moment. "Just a rabbit, this morning. Are you asking to hunt zusammen? Mit mir?" She laughed, her voice ringing off the old stone ruins. "Du bist nett, schwester, and I would gladly hunt alongside you. All I ask is that you tell me two things. First, and most important, is whether or not you are immune to venom? And second..." A hint of nonthreatening challenge entered Akralara's emerald eyes. "Do you think you can keep up?"

(design by Kikuyoshi) Edreiah gazed at Akralara and quirked a slight brow, then smirked. At first, she had wondered if the other might question into her nature again. But instead, it was almost as if the questions were a challenge. "Concerning the venom," she began, "that depends on its nature. Whether it is magical or not. Though I suppose in either case I have counter-measures." She was curious why on earth the other would have asked. But didn't voice her curiosity. Instead, she leaped forward and said, "As for keeping up... I suppose we'll have to find out," and with that, she took off. Akralara was significantly larger than herself... but that didn't mean she was slow by any means. In fact, one of her greatest strengths was her speed and agility. It was about to be put to the test, perhaps.

Akralara grinned, doubling back on herself in an almost snakelike fashion as she turned and bounded after Edreiah, drawing alongside her without difficulty. The large mutant was surprisingly quiet for her size, her footfalls making only slightly more noise than the she-wolf's. "Nur damit sie wissen, dämon-schwester, we may need to go a ways to find something large enough for both of us. I've never seen etwas groß this deep in den ruinen." She said this in a voice that was oddly normal for someone running at the speed that they were. In fact, she wasn't breathing any harder than when she had first approached after Vyrn left. "By the way, if this is as fast as you can go..." She jumped, running along the side of a crumbling wall for a good twenty feet before jumping again, twisting in midair to land on the other side of Edreiah. "Then I'm a little disappointed."

(design by Kikuyoshi) Edreiah said nothing in response to the comment of finding something large enough for the both of them. She had a no doubt that Akralara could eat an entire elk by herself. Perhaps even more than one. She was less interested in the actual meal and more in learning more about her companion. But she kept that to herself. With the next words uttered came a distinct challenge and Edreiah wondered if Akralara had similar interests as herself. She pushed herself, not quite yet ready to tap into something beyond the norm... she wouldn't unless it were necessary at this point. If Akralara really wanted to see what she could do, she'd soon see at least her physical abilities. Edreiah was not particularly strong. But she was fast. And soon her pale form became no more than a blur for anyone onlooking. And all the while her senses were entirely alert.
Up ahead, not far, was prey. A herd of deer, specifically. They would be coming upon them quickly at the speed they were going.
