Finding a door that had a lopsided sign that read "Adurnak's lounge", Skye checked a post-it that he had the name right. Just by the looks he could tell it hasn't been opened in a while and there were cobwebs in the corners of the frame. A paw-like hand grasped the knob and twisted. Inside was a dimly lit room and some bulbs had clearly blown out. A thick layer of dust rubbed off onto the pads of his fingers and palm, cringing at the feeling and a disgusted look twisted onto his face to match. "Ech!", he groaned, wiping it off onto his pants. Using a stubby claw to close the door behind him, Skye crept further inside the room. The amount of dust and fine debris that covered the floor could be heard with each step he took. "Uhh..hello?", he meekly called out whilst doing a slow 360 to cautiously look around. At the nearest table were 3 folders and a small stack of papers in each. Picking up a random page, it seemed to be a dossier of an individual named: Xuicoatl. "Zwee-cote-ill... or is it Zsee-?", he muttered to himself. Reading further, it listed off things about this individual. It read almost like it was a word for word transcript of an interview as they seemed very self-conscious about their past. Or rather 'she', since a gender was given. A corner of his lips curled, "Heh, now I'm deadly curious of what happened."
A hand rose to his chin and he read over the dossier some more. Leaning back as if to fall back into a chair, his feet lifted up and his body fell into an invisible seat. His tail even lifted and curled out of the way as if not to sit on it. Folding a leg over the knee of the other, Skye hovered in that spot, comfy as someone in a bag chair. "Man, that 'Blink' is hella OP", his voice hushed but in this quiet room was rather loud.

The room vanishes, replaced with a vast, flat grassland. Xuicoatl appears in a flash of brilliant white light, perched on a hard-light field a few meters above the ground. She glances around for a moment, then looks down at Skye with a slightly irritated expression.
"Huh... I forgot Adur set this up. Anyway, sorry kid, but no. I'm not ready to go into detail on that... uh... 'event' yet. Let's just say someone I was close to betrayed me, and leave it at that."
The white wolf idly scratches at an ear, the glowing runes that cover her body flickering as the hard-light field lowers so that she's level with the canid humanoid.
"Any other questions, grav-boy? Or you just gonna heckle the limitations that were put on my power?"

Eyes scanning the paper, out of his peripherals Skye noticed the sudden materialization of something, the brightness making him squint. Reflexively he reacted quickly, though he showed little on the outside. Paper dropping in his lap and eyes widening and blinking several times, a deep "Wooahh" fell out his mouth. Looking up and around, very cautiously, the dank dusty room he was in turned into a bright grassy field. "Uuhhmm...hm", perplexed, his mind suddenly went to the "Blink" ability he was just reading about. "Did I do that?", he internally thought. Quickly trying to replicate it, he thought of his home and blinked hard and relatively slow. Nothing happening, he repeated this a few more times before a feminine voice came from around him. A short "Ah!", squeaked from his throat as his head swiveled to where the voice originated. A rather large white wolf floated on a translucent surface, higher than he was. He listened as she addressed a comment he thought he said so quietly that no one would hear, let alone if anyone else was there. Face flushing, he felt sorta bad with his idle question. "Oh! You heard that... Uhm, I didn't think anyone else was here, sorry", his face was probably beet red and he could feel the heat radiating off his large ears. Thinking about the other remarks he made, he buried his face in his hands out of embarrassment.
Despite how flustered he was, she seemed unfazed with such a personal question aimed at her, keeping the answer understandably vague. Whilst calming himself down and fanning his face with a hand, Skye watched as the she-wolf silently lowered so they were on a similar horizontal plane. Finding his center and taking a deep breath, he listened and he could hear it in her tone that she was already done. ...Grav-boy? That's a new one... Also, limitations? Who or what was she?? Questions swirled but this time Skye thought more carefully about any other questions that would leave his mouth. Hesitating visibly, eyes darted away from the female and he re-crossed his legs, switching them. "Well... Uh... Er...", his tongue was tied. Dipping his nose into the dossier again, there were several other things that caught his eye, but of course all of them emptied from his head. "The runes!", he blurted out like a school kid trying to get the answer to the teacher first. "Th-the runes... what do they mean?... Oh god, now I'm all flustered", his voice grew quiet and became a mutter at the end as he felt like he was on the spot when the AMA was for Xuicoatl.

She blinked, a look of confusionflickering over her face for a split second. The runes? What was the kid... oh. Right. Those runes.
"Um... Ya' know, I'm not sure. I've never really thought about it. They're bindings and limiters, though. I know that much."

I really like the shadow effect you put on your text, but man, its hard to read at times. Maybe its just my tv lol. Don't change it cuz of me though. It seems that the white she-wolf is ignoring Skye's demeanor with how worked up he's making himself. He should take this as a good thing as it would only make it worse if she reacted, even at all, with how flustered he was. She gave her answer to his oddly delivered question concisely. She reiterated in a different way that she was limited and the way she's been talking lends to the fact that she's so powerful that her abilities need to be throttled. Holy smokes, he thought to himself. His reaction was quiet as he nodded, though after an awkward silence he forced himself to at least give a verbal response, "So you probably don't know what language it is then? They seem rather archaic." Skye recalled on the few books he's read at the CreeAtions compound where he had a short interest in old and dead literature.
The room, or rather the field they were in grew quiet again. Finally calm, he just now noticed that they weren't transported but rather the field was transported to him, so to speak. As he was still floating in a seated position, he looked over his side and reached a hand down to touch the "grass". It phased through his hand, just as he was speculating. Before looking back up at Xuicoatl, he spoke, "Is this AR? It seems rather state-of-the-art. I'm surprised such a room existed elsewhere." Skye paused, then continued, "Does that mean you're somewhere else, in a field I presume, and can see me but I'm only a hologram?" The subject shifted away from the white wolf as Skye was fascinated with what he assumed was a holo-room and it reminisced him of the facility of which he grew up in, where they had a similar room. Though not quite as neglected.

Xui huffed in amusement, her eyes shimmering.
"Don't have much experience with magic, do ya, kid? This is an astral projection; your mind is being projected into a sort of pocket realm, same as mine. How you interact with the world is controlled by your mind, to an extent. For example..."
Reaching her head forward with a mischievous glint in her eye, she touched the tip of her nose against his, giving a playful nip. Then, without warning, she jumped clear through him to land on another hard-light field, the first one vanishing into nothing.
"If you think you're going to go through something, you will. If you don't, you won't. Simple."

Apparently Skye was wrong to assume this was a fancy AR set up. The female arrogantly disputed him, simply saying it was a magic. He assumed it was hers but he couldn't be sure. As she spoke, he puffed his cheeks and crossed his arms. "I have ple-", Skye started to say but was cut off as the female approached him and put her nose to his and to his surprise was making physical contact. Flinching as then she jumped towards him, the she wolf phased right through him, exhibiting exactly what she explained. Turning to face her again, Skye was no longer in his sitting position and switched to just 'hang' in the air, still having his arms crossed. "I'll have you know that I have plenty of experience with magic, but just with my own, naturally... I've never experienced such magic as this though so don't chalk my ignorance up as inexperience.... Anyway, uhm, lets see... well without knowing much about your past I can't ask much about you." Skye remembered that this was an AMA, quickly forgetting the purpose of being here. "Favorite... food?"

Xiucoatl blinked, the sudden outburst followed by the change of topic catching her a bit off guard.
"Uh... Okay, first off, Anara makes amazing fried brook trout, so I'm gonna go with that. Second, saying you have plenty of experience with magic because you have magic is like saying you have plenty of experience with forests because you sat under a tree once. It's silly.

Skye could tell that he took her a little off guard as she hesitated a little bit, having to think of an answer to his basic but personal question. Her answer made him salivate and he hummed in agreement. It made him wonder who this Anara was, but then he got kinda sad as he remembered that he and Xuicoatl existed on different parts of the planet or even possibly in different worlds and he'd possibly would never be able to taste the amazing fried Brook Trout. As someone whose profession, albeit new, was a chef, he desired to taste it and learn from it.
"Ah!" Skye tutted lifting a stubby finger and his tail flicked, "I think you misunderstood. I didn't say I had a lot of experience with magic because I possessed it. I said I had a lot of experience with my own. I suppose 'experience' is a relative term and that's why you thought that way... Of course I'm still learning and have plenty to experience for myself so I'm nowhere near my limit... I'm not so arrogant to think I've learned everything there is about my abilities, let alone magic as a whole... This 'magic' is a fickle beast that I don't see anyone taming, but we can always learn from it in hopes to understand it more." Skyes thoughts wandered as did he, starting to pace in the air, or at least seeming like he was doing so. Without knowing it, he got kinda deep with his words without intending to do so.

Xiu huffed, a look of exasperation on her muzzle.
"Ugh... You sound like Lady Myotsa. You're not wrong, I'll give you that, but still... You sound tacky, like a badly written play. And don't talk to me about not knowing limits!"
Her gaze hardened, and her hard-light platform rose several meters. Her runes flashed, and were replaced by ribbons of golden light streaming from her shoulders.
Once, I hade no limits! Once, I was Xiucoatl, the Light of Destruction, Harbinger of Decimation, who held the very fires of the sun itself at her beck and call! Now, bound as I am as the shieldmaiden of Huntress Anara, I would gladly bend my power to her will if she should see fit to release it from these bindings.

A little confused by her first response, Skye slowed his pacing a little, not picking up on her references. Criticizing his off the cuff "deep moment" that he had, he only grunted in answer, not willing to fight her opinion. Turning he faced her once he realized that he might have triggered something within her, though again misconstruing what he said. "I-I didn't say-" He was cut off by Xuicoatl, what he thought, going berserk. Tensing he jumped back, though still floating in the air. She glowed and flashed and Skye brought up his hands and touched his four fingers together, though not quite activating his abilities, just preparing. Mulberry eyes were zeroed onto her as she rose up and proclaimed her supposed titles and such. Skye's tail twitched in anticipation. Learning that shes apparently shackled by this "Huntress Anara" or whoever, Skye sympathized. His mind analogized her to a chained dragon forced to boil the King's water for dinner. "Simmer down, Goddess of Decimation. I think we're getting off on the wrong paw here... Stop, twisting my words. I was relating- ...me to you" Skye gestured to himself as he got caught up in the middle of his sentence. After a short pause he continued to ask, "So why is the all powerful 'Xuicoatl, Light of Destruction', bound up like a backyard pet?" Skye put on a deep voice as he announced her title.
I instantly thought of the "PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER!.. itty bitty living space" from Aladdin lol.

The ribbons of light faded away, the eldritch runes shimmering back into view as Xiu lowered her platform back down.
"That was Anara's price. I would swear a Binding Oath to serve her as a shieldmaiden, for lack of a better term, and she would break the seal trapping me in the temple."
She gave a short huff of a laugh, shaking her head.
"I am no courtier's prancing mutt, though, nor does Anara treat me like one. She treats me as an equal, even if I am technically subordinate to her."

As Xuicoatl relaxed and deactivated herself, Skye followed suit, though not taking his eyes off her. His heart was calming from the sudden movement and he could feel his body laxing. Finger pads released from one another and he brought his paws down to his sides. Remaining quiet as Xui answered his question, he listened and idly stuck his paws into the pouch of the hoodie he was wearing. It was a little hard processing what she said about herself. Mainly not fully understanding who she was talking about and what all it was about. Who's Anara? Sealed to a temple? Why? Questions floated within his mind. He did gather though that it seems Anara saved her from some sort of imprisonment. Sub-consciously Skye floated to a different spot and he got distracted with the faux scenery until he realized Xuicoatl stopped speaking. "So this Anara... it seems she saved you but with a condition." Nodding his head to himself and giving a mild shrug, he continued. "Makes sense. Also makes me wonder how you ended up there in the first place... Rescuers always demand a reward, but I suppose if they went through hell then I suppose I can't blame them."

Xiu gave the floating humanoid a flat look.
"I was sealed in the temple for millennia on end because of what I could do. What I did do, more than once."
Her runes flare, and their surroundings change. In a shimmer of light, Xiu and Skye are all at once hundreds of meters in the air, suspended over a bustling medieval city. Far below, beings of all races and from all walks of life are visible, going about their business on a bright, sunny day.
"I earned those titles, Skye."
The sunlight starts to get brighter.
"You wanted to know what I did?"
A column of bright white-gold energy, roughly a meter wide, lances past them, striking the heart of the city.
For a moment, nothing happens.
Then, from where the ray struck, a flash. A blistering, horrible light, so intense that it rivals the sun.
In an instant, the city destroyed. Everything within half a kilometer or so of the epicenter is gone, vaporized, replaced with a gaping crater. Beyond that, a sea of burning rubble extends to what used be the city walls.
"I committed genocide."
{[Yes, this is cannon. The spell is called Sun Shard, and is one of multiple Devastation spells Xiu possessed, along with Tears of the Sun and the original Solar Flare spell.]}
