Name: Graal Oh Otonami
Gender: Male
Race: Wolf
Sub-Race: Ghost
Breed: Grey Wolf
Pack: N/A
Rank: N/A
Appearance:
Graal was a grizzled wolf for his age, time apart from others of his kind had given him much time for contemplation and deep thoughts, his mind is deep and full of complex ideologies and concepts, he has been to many places and seen much. His grey fur was dappled with darker and lighter patches that covers his numerous knotted scars. He is not particularly tall for a wolf, though his shoulders are broad, and could have developed further into a stronger appearance if Graal had ever decided to train, but he always prefered to talk his way out of a fight rather than fight his way out of trouble.
Perhaps this was what ended his life, but that is irrelevant. Now, his fur is simply white, the places that were once scarred appear to bleed mist into the aether, strips of his being floating as if under water. His eyes, once golden, are now a pale, pupilless blue.
Personality:
Although he once searched for companionship in any pack that was willing to accept him, he settled instead, into the Toai Ruins before the fall of the lands, as a friend and teacher to several of the local loner wolves.
Magic:
"Painless"
- Graal has the ability, by way of putting himself into a self-hypnotic trance, to ignore any and all sources of pain, fear and instinct-based self-preservation. This does not isolate him from harm, and not long ago, it caused him broken bones and pulled/torn muscles once it wore off.
Mark
- By placing down his paw and concentrating on emotions, thoughts, experiences or memories, he can leave an "imprint" of them upon the surface, although the imprint itself appears to float an inch or so from the surface as a wavering circle of pale light. Contact with these imprints will flood the recipient's mind with whatever is in the imprint, whether it be intentional or not.
Skills:
A skilled teller of tales, Graal often managed to soothe conflicts before they erupt into outright violence, and, while skilled in fighting to an extent, this was his go-to method of dealing with violence.
Other skills he has include the creation of bone talismans, taught to him by an old friend, and though in action they do little more than appear pretty, a symbol is often more powerful as a tool for bluffing, after all.
The language he often reverts to in private is known as Vulftung, and though few know it, he refers to it as "the true language", though this is mostly from his original culture. It is relatively easy to understand given repeated exposure, though he will often give a translation to others if they seem confused.
Biography:
I came to this land, long, long ago, from a place far, far away.
I made friends, got into fights and found a new purpose in this place.
I also died here.
Life is a transient thing, experiences, thoughts, dreams, even memories, no matter how hard one tries, everything will slip away in the end.
At least, that's what I thought would happen.
I died here, and then I awoke here.
My body has long gone, gnawed by scavengers, reclaimed by churning earth in the battle against evil.
And yet I awoke, it did not take long, almost. Sort of?
History matters little in this case, I remember... Possibly more than I should, or more than I was supposed to.
Or maybe not all I remember is my own.
Death does strange things to one's mind, not that mine was ever all that together in the first place.
I was drawn back to life, although I don't know by what or whom.
The abyss pulls at my being, dragging me ever towards the endless sea, the swirling vortex that ascends to the sky, I don't know if everyone else can see it, but I certainly can.
I'm not going to lie, it terrifies me, but I won't let it dominate me.
It scares me that it can drag me away at any moment, and it scares me that it pulls at my awareness constantly, dulling the mind and silencing memories.
I don't want to die another death.
I want to live one more time...
