Slender and lanky, average muscle.
Extra:
Being a Celestial he can summon a set of large white wings to appear on his back. These do not disrupt his clothing any, and are a wonder even to him. On his side he carries a sheathed sword and can summon another made of light to dual wield, the blade as solid as a real sword, just a lighter weight.
Personality:
Quiet and polite, he's what many would call a gentleman. He's got a soft voice and is level headed, making up for what his partner lacks. Because of such a feature, he's got strong opinions, but only opens up about them when he's quite certain that the person or people involved won't be offended. He's not suspicious of people, but he's cautious and a pretty good judge of character, keeping his female companion away from those who don't quite tickle his fancy. His patience is astounding and it's very rare he'll snap or raise his voice, albeit he has quite the stern tone when scolding a certain somebody. That's not to say his buttons can't be pushed, however.
Biography:
Being adopted into the Kalus family at infantry left his childhood little more than a memory, the Kalus's only job being to protect the king and his family. At a very young age Decim was trained in the art of the sword by his adopted father, who had control over the kingdoms army at the time, finding himself sparring against the well trained men on days his father was busy. By the age of nine he could out-duel most of his fathers men, and was coming fairly close to beating his father himself. With one more year of training, that day came; the same day the princess was born. Having bested the army, his father talked with the king about his prodigy son, coming to him the next day with word of his proposal. Decim had two options: move to another location and continue his training until he was old enough to replace his father, or be a guard to the princess, kept away in the castle for her younger years. Having high respect for his kingdom, and knowing the honor of protecting an heir, Decim chose to protect the princess, remaining loyally at her side as she grew.
As her protector, Decim was required to entertain the young girl with games and stories, living his childhood over properly with his young companion. He taught her to ride a horse and other fun activities while her father had a private teacher for her schooling, the two growing a bond immeasurably strong. On her tenth birthday he got permission from the king to take the young girl into town, letting her pick out her own horse from a seller/trader. Together they trained the young pony and spent their time together riding around the property talking when it wasn't required for her to be inside learning, still playing games on occasion when no one was watching, her father believing her to be too grown up for 'such silly things'.
For several more years the two grew together, Decim remaining the loyal guardian of his princess who looked up to him for everything. Believing she was old enough, Decim went against the kings wishes and began to teach her bits and pieces of self defence and weaponry, the two keeping it a well kept secret from the king and his men. As more time passed and the princess grew older, a marriage was arranged for political reasons between Decim's partner and a neighboring kingdoms prince, the princess falling quiet and depressed after the announcement. Angered and worried, Decim went to talk to the king, his pleas falling on deaf ears.
------------------------------------------------------
Two weeks passed after the announcement and a meeting was arranged, the prince coming to visit the princess days before the wedding was to take place. The king, princess, Decim and his father stood outside waiting, with few guards surrounding them to welcome the man that was taking their princess away in a short few days. Before the gates even shut behind him, the prince called out, waging war on the kingdom he was visiting. Enemy guards poured in full speed, Decim's father shouting orders to the few men he had available.
Shocked and angered the king turned to Decim and ordered him to take his daughter and run, pointing to the stables on the other side of the property. Wasting no time, he grabbed the princesses hand and ran, helping her whenever she stumbled and promising her everything would be okay. Twice they were intercepted and Decim pulled the sword from his side to fight, slaying the men quickly and efficiently, apologizing to the princess for what she had to see. The whole time they ran she was silent until they reached the horses, both mounting up and getting out, going through a little known about back door in the large stone fence surrounding them.
“Are you alright?” He asked as they rode through the trees, looking toward her to double check she was unharmed.
“Let's not ever come back.”
It was an order, something he had authority to refuse since it was a dumb one, and he knew in his head that it would be a horrible mistake to listen to her, but in his heart he wanted nothing more than to make her happy. So they ran, and never went back.
Skills:
He excels in sword fighting and is a formidable opponent, knowing a little gun control, and a good deal of hand to hand basics. He's able to fly short distances when he lets out his wings, and can carry someone for shorter lengths of time, doing so only in emergencies. He's patient and very sturdy, having been a punching bag for his companion more than a few times.
Magic:
Holy
Skills:
- Cure ~ Able to heal small wounds and halt bleeding for some amount of time, the intensity of the bleeding playing a large factor in for how long.
- Shield ~ Summoning a wall of faint light, he can create a protective barrier around an object, though the size is relatively small, only able to shield one or two people at most, and only for a minute at most. Usually used to block single attacks.
- Sword ~ He is able to call forth a sword of light to his hand, the blade lighter than a real sword, but having all the same properties. Other than the blade, the sword matches the other he carries, duel wielding when necessary.
