Species Name: Dánca Lûa
Pronunciation: Dah - n - kah Loo - ah
Information: The Dánca Lûa are known for their slender, graceful builds. Their strengths lie in agility and flexibility rather than brute strength. The species earned their name from their appearance of dancing or being fluid in manner when playing or moving. They have a great weakness, and that is, they cannot take a lot physically; however, that doesn't mean they can't put up a good fight. Because of their swift, fluid movements they are a rather difficult target to actually hit.
Eating Habits: Like most canines, Dánca Lûa are carnivores feeding off prey such as birds, rodents, and deer.
Living Habits: Dánca Lûa have grown adept to living in most environments and can be found almost anywhere.
Appearance:
Markings: All Dánca Lûa wolves are born with a pale, violet colored moon embedded in the fur on their right shoulder, and occasionally elsewhere on their body though very rarely. (See Magics)
Build: The females tend to have graceful, agile builds, as if made for ballet. The males are the same, except they have more bulk than the females, and are less slender in build. The males can have some bulky qualities although it is less than common. The species is slender and long in ever feature with tufted ears and tails which are similar to those of lions in appearance.
Pelts: Colors of fur are anything, ranging from anywhere in the rainbow. However, whatever color they may be, it tends to be pale, giving a sort of creamy or silky appearance to them. Also, their fur is extremely thick and soft to the touch.
Wings: Their wings are large and feathery resembling those of an eagle and usually similar to their fur in color.
Eyes: Their eyes are opaque, pupiless, and tend to reflect their souls, their personalities, and their elements.
Heights:
- Males tend to be anwhere from 3-4'
- Females can be anywhere from 3-3.5'
- Partial breeds can be varying heights depending on what other species runs through their blood. If demon blood runs through their veins they can get above 4' but not more than a few inches.
Weights: Due to the fact they usually have slender builds, they tend to weigh less than some other wolves their height, and may weight more in fur than actual mass.
- Males tend to way around 40 - 60 lb
- Female tend to way around 35 - 55 lb
May vary according to height.
Breeding: Dánca Lûa may breed as often as normal wolves and have young once or twice in a year. They usually have a liter of 2-3 pups and will find a cave as a den when ready to give birth.
Dánca Lûa May Breed With: Any Canine
Personalities: Dánca Lûa are very laid back and patient creatures. They are not the type to jump forward and make themselves known, but they are kind and won't refuse most others attention. They are not often pushed to aggression although they can fight if necessary and generally keep things to themselves. Please note: This does not mean if you create a Dánca Lûa it has to be all laid back and patient. While most wolves of this species are this way, there are exceptions. For more details, see the history. Their personality can be completely up to you since the species has grown diverse across worlds since their beginnings.
Lifespan: They are considered immortal since they don't really fall under the effects of old age. However, they simply have an extremely slow age rate. They can live to be up to 1,000 years of age and some have been known to live far longer. However, that's only if they don't get killed by the paws of other wolves along the way. Also, due to their slender builds they have a slightly lesser chance than some other species of wolves.
Magics: They can have any range from the four main elements to any other elements and sub-elements, however the Dánca Lûa tend to have magics related to and/or exactly opposite of their color. The moon marking is the source of all their power, therefore wolves with more than one moon are believed to be especially blessed. Partial moons are also possible, though rare. Usually this means not that they have a significantly smaller amount, but that they are only able to use their power on indicated times of the moon. They can have one or two elements, though one is usually more dominant/strong than the other. The second is often just a backup power. SO rules and limitations of power still apply.
Beliefs: They believe strongly in peace rather than violence and war. There are certain wolves of the species who believe differently, and many of them can be provoked if pressed too hard. Yet for the most part, they are taught patience from a young age. The Dánca Lûa also believe in the presence of other worlds and alternate universes. They believe in the power of such things, yet not necessarily in gods. They believe in the unity which lies beneath all things and how all things are equal.
History: The Dánca Lûa began on a moon of a planet in the same galaxy, yet not the same solar system as that of Noctre Imperii. For many generations they lived in peace and harmony with the creatures and world around them. They believe they were born from the union of the spirits of Divinity and that of the Heavenly Stars. One day, foreigners arrived on the moon and took the Dánca Lûa captive as slaves. Lovers of peace and inexperienced in fighting, the species stood no chance against the brute strength of their invaders and their mastery of the spirits for war rather than enjoyment. For years, the species lived in captivity, some sold as slaves, others forced to mix breeds and the race became scattered. Many died, whether from murder or simple lack of care, or from being forced to fight to the death in which they had a disadvantage.
A group in secret formed and rebelled against their teachings. They began to learn how to fight and use their elements for defense and battle. They learned how to use their bodies for an advantage, learning speed and agility against the brute strength of the others. They broke away and formed a new branch of the species, teaching the pups both the legendary ways and the new so that their children might carry on their heritage yet also survive and perhaps someday escape to somewhere new. Their work succeeded. Some who were traveling to different worlds took some of the pups with them. Others of the species smuggled their way onto the vessels of travel and word traveled to others.
The species ended up on several different worlds, some which were wild and undiscovered, some which were harsh, and some like their home which was peaceful. No matter where they went, they have learned how to flourish. Even so, they suffer from their build's disadvantage, except for those of mixed breeding.
Credits: Anyone can make a Dánca Lûa wolf without asking permission, just make sure you credit me!
Please note! If you do want to make one, please notify me by PM they're name and if they're purebred, half, etc.. so I can add them to the list XD Thanks!
